It gave me back a couple of my plugins, which were within the "update plan", all others seem to be lost.

I fully agree! Updated my system to W10 a few days ago and wanted to install my Waves Plugins again - result was a LOOOL from Waves Central -) Waves has all the ingredients of a company circling the drain, I hate them. I didn't get any "thanks for your inquiry - someone will contact you soon" confirmation, no email confirmation, no way at all to confirm whether the form was actually sent. Hit "send," and the form just reset to blank. There is just no aspect of their system that isn't a complete train wreck.ĮDIT 3: So having eventually managed to find a form to fill out for Waves support, I spent a good 15 minutes trying to describe the problem in detail to them.

Naturally, it stuck on Waves and brought up an error message saying I don't have a license for the Element synth - yet I do, it's in my account with all the others and it's on my machine (according to Waves Central). God I hate Waves and everything they stand for.ĮDIT 2: Now, having reinstalled all of my V9 plugins and made sure that all of my licenses are on my machine, I tried to rescan my VST's in the DAW. Great! Only some of them aren't even in the list. It asks that I simply select the plugins I want to install from a list of all of Waves Plugins. Hate it hate it hate it!ĮDIT: I have downloaded their hard to find V9 installer to get my V9 plugins back. It's just crappy, outdated Waves and their crappy outdated user-unfriendly installation and licensing system. I'm just sick of this BS, after all the money I've spent with them over the years. Every time I give music production a break and go back to it weeks later - problem with Waves.

I look in my Waves account on the site - it's not even showing that I own Abbey Road Vinyl, despite the fact that I do and have used it for at least 2 years. I read their official help docs - nothing pertaining to my problem. dll's, and there's never a simple solution. It's complete BS.Įvery time I try to Google these problems, I see others experiencing similar crap, or something involving Waves Shell. Where is it? Where could it possibly have gone in that time? Nowhere. It's not on my computer, it's not in the cloud, it's as if it doesn't exist.
So I go to Waves Central, and lo and behold, all of my licenses are there except for that one. Like right now, it won't load any instance of Abbey Road Vinyl in a project. Despite this, I'll go to open a project a month later and get some error message about a Waves plugin not loading. During that time, I won't open a DAW or any other music software, I don't delete or uninstall anything and basically nothing should have changed in my whole VST setup.
Here's a typical scenario (just happened to me now): I'll give production a break for a month or so for one reason or another. It's absolute garbage, and it's an insult to anyone who spends $$$'s with them. I have lost count of how many times I've had plugins that wouldn't load, or were missing, or had licenses mysteriously disappear from my account. I am SO SICK of Wave's crappy, almost universally hated and condemned installation system.
